Cohen Month 6 Update

We are to the half way mark. It really is strange to think Cohen has been apart of our lives for 6 whole months. I can only imagine how quickly the next 6 months will go.

Cohen really found his tongue this month. He is a huge fan of sticking out his tongue, rolling his tongue, and all the fun lip sounds along with it. It is fun to watch.

 Even with all the tongue action you are still able to easily get a smile. This is probably the biggest and best change from Sevea. Sure she was a very happy kid but smiling all the time just wasn't her thing. What a day brightener a smile from this kiddo gives.

This tongue helps lick up all that good milk too! He was spitting up a little more so we dropped his bottles down an ounce at each feeding. It seems to help but he still spits up some. We're wondering if it is partly because of the two teeth that we think will pop through sometime soon. You can tell the two bottom ones are thinking about it but in reality who knows when we'll see them pop through.

He's really taken much more of an interest into others this month as well. He is aware of those around him and really enjoys watching whatever the kids are doing. Especially from his favorite view from the jumperoo. Although Grayson feels like he can stomp all over Cohen, we know it will be no time at all before Cohen gets into the action.

Cohen's eating and sleeping are going well. Cohen still really loves his bottles. But within the past two weeks Cohen has really taken to solids. We ended up having to really thicken his cereal and then he figured it all out. We've stuck to cereal just to have him get the hang of it but veggies, fruit, and meat are on the agenda soon. Our doctor even advised starting to try finger foods. I think once he's sitting on his own we'll give those a try, which he's not quite there yet. He is still going to bed between 6:30-7:00 and wakes up between 6:30-7:30. For now we are fine with his one time a night wake up sometime around 4-5. It might just be the thing that keeps him sleeping in...which he prefers. The days we've let him wake up early he isn't his happy self. And honestly these parents would rather get up for 10 minutes and get to sleep in later :)

With Cohen loving his bottles so much we were very very curious as to what his weight would be. He certainly is our chunky monkey but his stats really make sense why his rolls are never ending! His weight was 18 lbs 1 3/4 oz which put him at 61%. His length went back up to 24% putting him at 25 3/4 inches. Now his chunkiness totally makes sense. Comparing to Sevea she was one inch shorter (24 3/4) but was almost 3 lbs smaller (15 lbs 2oz).

Cohen is growing and happy. We couldn't ask for anything more!
