Sibling Fun

It is so fun to watch Sevea and Cohen interact as they grow. Cohen is getting to the stage where Sevea finds him more fun than just cute. She knows she can be a little more “rough” with him. She is still pretty gentle and I am actually pretty thankful now that she was born first so Cohen has less exposure to rough housing :) Cohen thinks she is very funny and loves to follow her around. He doesn’t always know what she wants to play but is a willing participant in the fun.

This is about as rough as it gets. Cuddles and hugs rolling on the floor.

Cohen not really sure what game they are playing. Just chillin’ on the car….the pink car no less :)

The excitement is building. He thinks this is going to be fun. I’m ready!

Bumper cars…now this is a fun game!!!
NEVER forget to have fun with each other!

This drawer is made for me

I just love how kids can sit anywhere and be content. It doesn’t have to be the couch or the floor or even a chair. Give them some toys to sit on, just fine. Give them a basket to sit in, okay. Cohen decided one day that when day was hooking up the sound system bar he purchased (in order to hear the cartoons better you know!) he would take advantage of the fact that the dvd drawer was sitting on the floor just asking for him to sit in it. Not much in life is more fun than sitting in a drawer throwing out the dvd’s!!

I hold on to

I hold on to the memories. Just like years in past I take today as the day to really remember all the good times I was fortunate to have with my dad. I came across more pictures of a pretty memorable night with my dad and thought it would be great to share. I’ll always miss you dad but at least I have some pretty good times to look back on and be thankful there is a reason to miss you in the first place.

Making drinks with Troy. And checking to make sure that Troy could handle the good of the whiskey.

Here is the bull. I couldn’t ever tell you the story when my dad was alive nor can I tell it today but if you ever have a chance for the next best thing, Ryan, to tell you about the bull and the bugle you should. And a night is not complete without a little vacuuming…of ones hat of course!

I love and miss you daddy-o!

Kisses?

IMG_5233IMG_5236

He’s either trying to give him kisses or trying to eat his face?

Cohen is not always a free giver of his kisses, but when it comes to baby Leo he would give him kisses all day long. He generally does pretty well with having a new baby during daycare. He hasn’t ever been rough or tough with him on purpose but his kisses can be a bit much at times (see above) or he tries to put in his nuk and doesn’t have the best coordination for it yet. Oh the fun of a “baby” not considering himself a baby anymore.

Halloween 2012

Hope everyone had a great Halloween this year. Each year gets better and better as the kids grow. It is fun watching them be excited about holidays. Sevea proclaimed Halloween to be her favorite followed by Christmas. However I think come Christmas time she might be switching :)

We started our celebration with pumpkin carving. It is a fun yearly tradition that we can do as a family. Even Cohen joined in the fun. Sevea gets excited to watch us carve the pumpkin and see what the end result is. Unfortunately somehow we forgot to take a picture of our pumpkins and by the time we remembered on Halloween they were shriveled and not looking good :(

Sevea is at an age now that she wants to pick out her own costume. However she is also still under the spell of parent persuasion. She originally picked out a princess costume but knowing how cold it can be on Halloween we convinced her to get something else. So we went to the costume store and pointed out all the costumes that we thought could work. She wanted to be Doc McStuffins but they didn’t have a doctor outfit. She wanted to be a cowgirl and tried on the Jessie costume from Toy Story. She liked it but ultimately decided on something that she loved even more. Something PINK!!

She was Foofa from the tv show Yo Gabba Gabba! It was sort of funny because she doesn’t really know the character because it isn’t a show we watch much. But the chance to wear her favorite color from head to toe I think sealed the deal on this costume. Mom and Dad loved it because she could be warm without having to cover up the costume and the price couldn’t be beat!!

Cohen’s costume came courtesy from the Zimmers. Carissa got it on clearance the year before and it just didn’t fit Grayson all that well. Who would have guessed how perfect this costume would be for Cohen. As you read earlier Cohen recently started walking. In trying to keep his balance he walked like Frankenstein. I don’t think he could have been any cuter!

Since Sevea is such a pro at trick or treating we decided to get together with our friends in town to have her show them how it is done. The Witzel twins were the cutest potato heads I’ve ever seen. Mr. Grayson was sure to stink up a place with his skunk costume. All the kids did really well at walking up to the door and getting their candy. They didn’t even need Sevea. It will be fun in the years to come watching them all really get into the holiday. And us adults will love the holiday even more since they’ll get more candy for us!!

I love that Sevea gets just as excited to get home and hand out the candy as she does to receive it. Silly sweet girl!

Happy Halloween!!
