Bismarck Weekend

A couple weekends ago we packed up the Suburban with kids and the remainder of our house to see my brother Ryan and his adorable kids. It was the longest car ride we had attempted yet with all three kids. We left on a Thursday night and hoped the drive there would go well since most of the ride would be during bedtime. All three kids did great. Sevea was probably the worst of the 3 and kept asking when we would get there. Her excitement got the best of her and she said how thankful she is that Addy comes to visit her. Our one stop worked out perfectly before bedtime. The drive home was during the day but somehow we still only managed to stop once and everyone did great. The drive was definitely a success!

Ryan was an amazing host making delicious meal after delicious meal. It was a lot of fun watching the kids have fun together and us adults enjoyed a couple drinks and good conversation. We made our way over to a local wave pool one afternoon. I wasn’t quite sure how the kids would do with the waves but they ended up loving it.

Both Sevea and Cohen absolutely loved the waves crashing into them. The waves would crash into Cohen and he’d get all excited. It didn’t phase him when the water would go over his head. He’d just wipe his face off and get ready for the next wave. Sevea would dive right into the waves. She was smiling from ear to ear the whole time.

Thankfully the pool also had non-wave time since not everyone was in love with the waves like my kids. The floaties were a huge hit with the kids. I loved that the pool was very shallow upon entering so the babies could sit and enjoy the water without having to be held the entire time.

We had a lot of fun at the wave pool. But honestly our whole trip was great. The kids were very good to us and slept in everyday which never happens. Best part of the trip was getting to spend quality time with family. We wish there was less distance between us but at least we made the most of the time we did have together.
