She did it again! She makes us really proud on many occasions but Sevea was once again awarded as a Star Student at school this year. You can read all about last year here. Quick recap: So what makes her a star student? Throughout the month they receive PAW tickets that recognize them for being responsible, respectful, positive, and safe. Each month the teacher in each classroom picks one student who they feel gave EXTRA PAWsitive effort that month. That student is then called in front of the entire school at a student assembly and given the award.
Since going to school and well probably just because she is growing up, we’ve seen more and more attitude from Sevea. As her parents we get very frustrated dealing with this when it once didn’t happen. But it is awards like this that remind us that in general she is still the very loveable kind girl we’ve always known. She is a rule follower and respects authority (even though sometimes that attitude makes us think differently…it’s a parent/kid thing right?!?!?!). She’s proven this outside of school as well. In gymnastics while all the other kids goofed off and had trouble respecting and listening to the teacher, she stayed focused on what was being asked of her and waiting patiently when it wasn’t her turn. She even commented that the one thing she didn’t like about gymnastics was that the other kids made the teacher upset by not listening. Really that is the one thing you didn’t like?! It made my heart happy to hear it though.
So what does a proud parent do to help celebrate? We took her for ice cream of course! Ice Cream is Sevea’s favorite and she totally earned and 100% deserved her mini oreo blizzard. Keep it up Sevea! We are so proud of you!
