We had an extra fun Easter this year. The Easter bunny totally didn’t keep tradition from last year and hide the baskets. But the smiles prove it doesn’t matter to these three. It would have been especially hard this year considering they got more than the traditional toy or outfit.
Not only did the kids receive some candy and a toy each (doll for Brynna, transformer for Cohen, and Season 4 Shopkins for Sevea), they each got a t-shirt, a Kindle Fire (small tablet…or what they call their ipads), and a suitcase. After we helped them connect the dots of the items, they learned that they were going to Walt Disney World in a little over a week. Their reaction was exactly what I expected. Sevea got it the most, Cohen got the idea of the airplane, and Brynna nothing. They were more excited at that time for their very own tablets. We somehow managed to get them to leave the tablets and join us for breakfast. I think the Jaime cake (monkey bread) enticed them. Troy and I were happy to enjoy a mimosa with the rest of our breakfast.
The rest of our Easter was spent relaxing at home. We gave thanks for all of God’s blessings with a day where we didn’t even take off pajamas. Later in the day the Zimmer’s stopped by for an egg hunt and some supper. By this time the kids excitement had grown about the upcoming trip to Disney. Cissa barely got through the door and the kids were telling her all about what they got in their Easter baskets and where they were going, making sure to show her on the calendar which day we were leaving and everything.
I don’t think egg hunts ever get old. No matter how many they do they always love it. Finding eggs filled with candy, what’s not to love! It was a blessed day that’s for sure.
