The key to getting this girl to actually spend her own money…a gift card and her brother. I totally wondered when this day would come. Sevea has lost a few teeth and earned money other ways as well. But she hesitates to ever spend it. Many times we have mentioned that she could use her own money to buy something at the store. But every time she decides to save her money and go without. Cohen received a gift card and couldn’t wait to spend it. Sevea then remembered she had a gift card and wanted to get something as well. So she finally got to experience selecting her items, making sure they fit within the amount of her gift card, and pay for them all on her. I didn’t know whether to be more proud that she completed this grown up task on her own or that she somehow has a value for money and chooses to save it (all without us really putting in the effort to teach this necessary lesson). Or maybe the best yet is both Sevea and Cohen were willing to spend their own money to get Brynna a toy too. Yeah it might be that one.
