Oh my oh my! I can’t believe in less than a month our little Miss Brynna will turn the big 1. It just blows my mind how quickly this time has gone. This past month was no different than the months before it. Brynna continued to not listen to me and grew more, learned more, and became less and less my baby.
After learning to pull herself up, Brynna kept on perfecting her new skill. Anything and everything she was pulling herself up on. We waited and waited for the time when we’d find her standing in her crib and then finally it happened. And then we wished it wouldn’t have. She went through a few days of having to figure out that she couldn’t just stand up and not take a nap. She knew how to get down but just wouldn’t do it. Thankfully a little tough love helped her figure it out sooner rather than later. She has also started to move a lot more on her feet. She doesn’t show any signs of being ready to walk anytime soon but she will move from one thing to the next more freely now. She seems content to get around her way versus trying hard to move onto walking.
I’m thinking her walking days will be a lot closer to when the other two started walking (14 months). Which I’ve always been one to not rush the walking. Then I’d have to chase her everywhere instead of being able to sort of contain her or at least she can’t get anywhere too quick.
However there are those times that she does still get into things. Case in point: the sandbox. She just wouldn’t quit trying to get over to the sandbox. So I let her. I figured (or actually really really hoped) she would get a taste of it and not want to eat it. Thankfully that is pretty much what happened. She LOVES sand but spends most of the time playing with the sand versus trying to eat it. If she finds a rock she’ll try to put it into her mouth but otherwise doesn’t eat the sand much.
Brynna is figuring out her hands more and more. She added clapping to her list of skills. And after clapping seems to come learning the sign more. She is just like my other two and starts out clapping to sign more. She doesn’t quite get to request more but will sign it when we tell her to. Daddy gave her spoon after spoon of ice cream just because she would sign more after him. Ok that is a lie…mommy was involved in that too. She got the tiniest licks but loved it and how can you turn her down. It is not cake after all ;)
But that first bite of cake and frosting is going to be here so soon. I can’t wait to see her dig and destroy the cake…which from how she acts now, the cake won’t stand a chance.
