Pool Fun

Two weekends ago we went to Marshall for the day and squeezed in A TON of fun. We made a stop in the afternoon at Grandma NeNe and Grandpa Gary’s. The kids had a lot of fun playing with all the old trucks that Grandpa Gary played with as a boy. The weather was perfect for sitting outside on a blanket and enjoying a couple hours together. The kids were sent home with a Buzz Lightyear toy (that Grandpa Gary insisted we take with….maybe had something to do with the buttons and the irritation that can come with those buttons being pushed numerous times over and over) and some teeter-totters that the kids have been really enjoying.

Before our playtime, we had pool time with Grandpa and Grandma A. As I mentioned before when we went to the beach Sevea was totally loving showing off her new swimming skills. She is just even more in love with the water lately and I am sure it has everything to do with becoming more comfortable in the water as well as the little bit more freedom that provides. She was non-stop in the pool.

It was a good thing we could trust Sevea more in the pool because Cohen is fearless when it comes to the water. He absolutely LOVED pool time. We tried arm floaties on him this time and he exceeded our expectations. He looked like he had been swimming around with them for years. It allowed us to be able to take our eyes off him for a second

Before we knew it the kids were ready for the deep end and all the new fun that awaited. Grandpa A. and daddy showed off their diving skills and their best cannonballs. Then the kids decided that they were going to do their best as well. Sevea’s first attempt was pretty good. Got her knee in and everything. It was hilarious watching Cohen attempt to dive. He did his little forward fold and then would squat down to eventually jump into dad’s arms.

Brynna did what Brynna does…watched all the action. She lasted very little in the little boat but happily splashed in the water with some one holding her. She loved how warm the pool water was compared to the beach water.

Pool time should always end with happy kids wrapped up in big towels. Nothing better! Well maybe taking a snooze with one tired swimmer could be classified as better!
