Let’s play ball

With Sevea being in gymnastics, Cohen has been asking more and more lately about doing an activity himself. Swimming lessons helped and he loved when it was his night to go. But we decided to take the summer off from swimming lessons so we were on the hunt for something else Cohen could do. One part of me hates putting them into activities so young…the more they do the busier we are and with three kids it will only get worse. But another part of me really loves it. I love that it helps them stay active. Plus it’s a good way for them to figure out coordination more, working with others, and just in general whether they like certain sports/activities. Signing Cohen up for t-ball was an easy option as he loved hitting the ball at home. Thankfully it worked out for me to transport him during the day because the other options he just missed the age requirement. So off he went to t-ball twice a week and since I was going, Grayson joined this session as well and they got on the same team!

There he goes running to first base. He really had good speed at times, at least when it was running to first base. Then just like almost every other kid he didn’t realize that he needed to race to the base in order to beat the ball. I think that was one area that was lacking with the program. But honestly it didn’t bother me either because it was an introductory activity. Cohen learned so much and it was all about fun anyway.

Here he is in the outfield. He did pretty well at keeping his attention on the game. Now he wasn’t perfect, as shown in these two pictures, but he did ok at paying attention to where the ball was whether that was someone batting or someone throwing it to a certain base. He did well at grounding the balls and throwing the correct way (point, step, and throw…it was so cute watching the kids do this because it was always in super slow motion). He again didn’t get the urgency part to the game as he took his sweet sweet time running to the base to tag a player out (granted no player actually got called out of the game either). Overall I think he had a really fun t-ball season. He was however ready for it to end and is excited for swimming to start up again.

I can’t end without including some pictures of Grayson as well. This little slugger enjoyed his season as well.
