Easter 2017

What’s not to love about a holiday that encourages finding candy in plastic eggs? Totally not the purpose of the holiday but we love it anyway. The weather cooperated enough for us to enjoy the local community center’s annual egg hunt. The one year we went when it was inside due to bad weather scared us away from ever doing that again. The hunt is over really quick but it is a couple miles from our house and the kids have fun. It surprises me every year the amount of adults that participate. Yes the adults will take candy right out from under a child. Now I love candy just as much if not more than the next person but you can easily buy this candy for not much money at the store. And this is meant to be fun for the kids and not get as much candy for your child as you can. I tried very hard not to pick up the candy myself but to point my kids to the good stuff that I wanted ;)

You see? I watched this lady and didn’t see her kids anywhere near her. Maybe I’m just sour about it because this happened more than once to my kids and they were going for my favorite candy ;)

We got back to the tradition we started then stopped, haha. The kids were very excited to run around the house in the morning to find their baskets. For some reason or another the baskets were all hidden in the living room so it wasn’t much of a challenge for them. But fun none the less especially when it is filled with goodies.

We took the kids later in the day for a movie. Shakopee got a new theatre and although the tickets are more expensive they have these great seats now. So nice for the kids because they used to almost fall through the traditional ones without that booster seat. These parents definitely plan to enjoy a cocktail during a date night sometime too!

We always love to end the afternoon with an egg hunt. Zimmer’s couldn’t pass up the opportunity to keep the tradition alive so they joined as usual.

What a day full of sweets and sweeties. We are very blessed!
