The Easter bunny hopped on by our house with goodies but the day was spent enjoying time with our three blessings. When the kids woke up Easter baskets awaited them. Pjs for the girls and Cars socks for Cohen, one toy each for the big kids and two snacks/treats each for them to enjoy.
We decided that this year we’d try going out to brunch since it isn’t the most fun cooking an Easter dinner just for us. And well if you know me I love me a good brunch. We went to Mystic Lake Casino and while the food was good we’d go somewhere next year that takes reservations. Then we don’t have to entertain three young kids while waiting in line. Sevea and Cohen were great at being puppies while I fed them treats and thankfully we went at a good time and only had to wait around 45 minutes.
With full bellies we came home and enjoyed the gorgeous spring weather. We really lucked out this year especially considering the horribly cold winter we’ve had. We spent the majority of our day outside starting with some swing time.
We put the kids to work filling the Easter eggs for our third hunt of the season. Then sent them inside while dad hid them. They enjoyed the third hunt just as much as the first.
Brynna isn’t into finding eggs just yet but she did enjoy getting to experience the grass for the first time.
After a fun filled day outside we ended our Easter fun with some dying of eggs. It was definitely an exercise in being patient and being calm for Troy and I. Cohen surely didn’t understand or care to listen to slowly and gently putting the egg in the cup. He plopped them in and dye went spilling over. Nothing a little paper towel couldn’t clean up and at least he was having fun with it. Sevea was interested in dying one egg half and half this year…until Cohen became impatient and she just resorted to putting the whole egg in again. But in the end they created some pretty cute eggs. And really the color on the outside doesn’t matter in the end…still tastes delicious in egg salad or put on top of a lettuce salad.
At the end of the day we were all exhausted but fun memories were made. A good day in my books!
I love the picture of Brynna in the swing!
