One trip that our Christmas season wouldn’t be complete without is definitely going for Breakfast with Santa. This year was a little different though because a new Santa was there. (Don’t worry we checked the other Santa was doing well just unavailable) Despite the unfamiliar yet familiar face, we enjoyed getting to talk with Santa about all we hoped he’d bring this year.
Well everyone except for guess who? Brynna couldn’t get over the fact that this was a new guy and didn’t want anything to do with him on her own. First I had to stand with her and then it was Brody. Talk about picky girl. This is a guy who brings you gifts. I’d talk to anyone willing to do that :)
With the lists given to Santa we were now ready for Christmas to come. The first gift of the season is always the ornaments that dad picks out. I think he did really well this year. Brynna started gymnastics this year and is loving it. Cohen loved getting to go to the Monster Truck show with dad for his special dad date. Sevea is really into animals lately especially cats and dogs. Maybe she’ll be a vet someday.
We started our holiday celebrations by heading to Marshall to see Grandma Appel. Brynna’s favorite gift might have been the parmesan cheese when we were out to eat. Slightly joking. But really these kids are always entertained at Grandma’s not because of brand new toys but new to them toys that once were Troy’s. Well and this time was extra special because Grandma got out her old doll house. It was a huge hit with both girls. Cohen managed to not only get Christmas presents on the visit but earned a little extra cash. He put it to good use buying a game for his new Nintendo Switch.
After a fun filled time being spoiled by Grandma we headed home. I wasn’t sure the kids needed anything more but decided the gifts were bought and under the tree so we might as well just have the Christmas as planned. This year we continued our tradition of Christmas pajamas. Getting comfy will be a necessity every year. The kids agree and wore them all the next day too.
The kids were pretty excited about their gifts. One of my favorites was seeing Cohen so excited about receiving the calendar I make each year. He loves looking at mine and getting his own was a special request of his. Santa made his visit Christmas Eve and the kids woke up excited to look in their stockings and open a gift from Santa.
After the stockings are open and we see what Santa brought it is time to head over to the Zimmer’s house for Christmas Day fun. The presents are great but the best part of the season is spending time together with family and friends. The presents are just great for giving the kids something new to play with and ways to enjoy time together. We’ve been lucky enough to have the Rotell’s join us on Christmas Day for a few years and each year is more fun watching the kids really enjoy spending time together.
So much fun and celebrating but the season wasn’t done yet. We still had the Pearcy Christmas.
