Double digits, we’ve entered double digits! This is just crazy to me. Sure this girl keeps growing taller and learning more and proving everyday that she is getting older. But yet I have a hard time wrapping my brain around the fact that it has been a decade since this not so little girl came into the world and forever changed our lives. She’s the child we pretty much test drove parenting life with and will continue to do so. Each year brings something new and really she’s been the best at helping us all get through it in one piece. Change is hard so we often have to take a step back and remember that she is navigating this all for the first time with no one to learn from. Cohen and Brynna have her to learn from but she’s doing this all blind in a way. During those frustrating moments I’m making a much bigger effort to remember this. Because really this girl is doing a bang up job on growing up. She’s considerate and tries to be good to others. She’s not perfect and has plenty of moments where we express our disappointment in her actions. These tend to be small incidents and in general she has a very caring heart. She is really taking more ownership of everything in her life. This is spilling into her school work and has had the best start to school yet. She is just the best big sister and first kid this family could ask for. She certainly has found some moodiness especially when she deems it necessary to “mother” her siblings. But in general she is very helpful and most definitely ready to tackle babysitting sooner than later. My baby watching other babies, that’s a tough one to imagine! But the time will pass no matter what and we’ve had ten years to prove that together we’ll figure it all out. And I think we’re doing an ok job of it :)
