Construction Zone

Our house has officially entered into being a construction zone. It is finally sinking in that we will have two levels of our home to use soon enough. It can't come at a better time either. With me doing home daycare we will really love the downstairs space for the daycare and enjoy the upstairs for our family. Although we do love having the daycare since we keep a much tidier home :) Odd huh...more kids coming through the house but yet it is cleaner. The power of putting kids to work!! Just kidding

Anyway we've made some progress and hope to get a lot done in April. We've got the framing up and the electrical pretty much done. We hope to tackle the heating and air this weekend. After the electrical and the HVAC we will be able to have an inspection on the work and move onto to hanging the sheetrock. It will be exciting to get to that point so we can really really see how the basement will look.

For now here are some pictures of the framing to give you an idea of what the basement will be like.
As you walk down the stairs you can go through a door to the left into the laundry room or go straight through to the kitchenette for the daycare

Looking back from the kitchenette area

This is the kitchenette area. There will be a stove, fridge, microwave, and a few cabinets. Nothing big but will work nicely for the daycare

This area is on the same wall as the kitchenette but into the living room area. Daycare will most likely take over this area

This is the other side of the living room area. The couch area will be here with a tv on the wall of the laundry room

Bathroom...nothing big but it will do the trick

Bedroom to the back of the house

Bedroom to the front of the house

  1. Are you doing all the work yourselves? When did you start? When will you have it done by? Where are you managing the daycare while working on the basement?
